Isabel Erpenbach

Isabel Erpenbach, age 90, of Mitchell, formerly of Ethan, died Monday, December 24, 2018 at Avera Brady Health and Rehab in Mitchell.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell. Burial will be at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Ethan. Visitation will be 5-7:00 PM Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church with a 6:30 Scripture Service. Arrangements by Bittner Funeral Chapel.

Isabel Erpenbach was born on February 27, 1928 to John and Julia (Weber) Bowar in Dimock, SD. She graduated from Parkston High School. On September 18, 1950 she married Edward Erpenbach in Dimock, SD. The couple made their home in Ethan, SD, where Isabel lived until 2016. Isabel worked with Ed at Erpenbach Insurance Agency in Ethan for 30 years. She was an active member of the Altar Society of Holy Trinity Church and the American Legion Auxiliary in Ethan. Isabel enjoyed reading, knitting, and playing cards and her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. 

She is survived by her son, John (Patti) Erpenbach, Sioux Falls; daughter-in-law, Florence Erpenbach, Ethan; daughter, Ann (Brian) Temple, Mitchell; eight grandchildren, Andy Erpenbach, Tom Erpenbach, Matt (Jess) Erpenbach, Jake (Aletha) Erpenbach, Mary (Corey) Beyer, Tony Temple (Amanda Chilcote), Melissa (Matt) Nedved, and Michael Temple; ten great-grandchildren, Ava, Sophia and Stella Erpenbach, Evan, Aubry, and Eli Erpenbach, Juliette, Maverick and Oliver Beyer, and Noella Nedved; and  sisters-in-law, Shelia (Ralph) Bowar, Sioux Falls and Joyce (Bill) Bowar, Lincoln, NE.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ed in 2009 and son Glen in 2003.

Isy had a heart of gold & so sweet. We had so much fun playing pitch with her. She would always share pictures of the family she loved so . Our sympathy to the family.

So sorry to hear of your Mom's Passing. She was a sweet lady as I recall those many long years ago.
