Grandma Mary and I had some special times together while I attended University of Northern Iowa. We loved The Brown Bottle and going to a pizza buffet. She always made me laugh. She always made me feel loved. She always had time for one beer and some good conversation. She was a great grandmother. Aunt Katie and Uncle Bill what you two did for her in her final stage of life was selfless. You took care of her and saw her on a daily basis so she was not alone. You two should be commended for what you did for her in SD daily for so many years. I will miss you Grandma Mary. Based on these notes it looks like many people will which does not surprise me. You were a great grandmother. Thanks for all the laughs right up to our last visit together. “Snowy” and Addison are lucky they got to see their great grandmother.

I have so many wonderful memories of Mary- her home baked bread and the freshly ironed sheets on the bed in the cold of winter! She had such a great smile! I'm so glad that she was our neighbor on Wheeler Drive....

We are sorry to read of the loss of your mother, Mary. We are in Florida for three months so unable to attend the visitation/funeral. We have SO many wonderful memories of your Mom and Dad and all of you. We remember fondly the Sunday afternoon picnics at With and staying with you kids a few times when your parents needed to be out of town. Thinking of you and wishing we could be there to catch up with all of you.

My sincere condolences to the family. Words are never enough to take away the pain; but we can find comfort in God's promises in the bible to soon bring our loved ones back to life again, remove all suffering and death forever- Acts 24:15 and Revelation 21:3-5. May Jehovah God provide the family with strength and inner peace as you all reflect on his promises and cherish wonderful memories of Mary. Grandma Mary, the world has lost another shining star. I have known you to be an amazing grandmother with a love for company. You are now in Heaven where you can entertain the angels with your humor and joy. You will forever be loved and missed.

100 years of life! "My Garsh (gosh)," as Grandma Mary would say. You lived, you loved, you cherished every moment. Your love for God was contagious and your love for your kids, grandchildren, family and friends was relentless. I will always remember the roar of laughter in a room with your light hearted comments and all of the smiles you placed on everyone's face. You will be missed Grandma, "That hit the spot," as grandma would say. Your blessed and long life hit a spot in your family's' heart forever. We love you Grandma Mary.
