Roger Lee Weber, 72, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at the Armour Care And Rehabilitation Center, Armour, SD. Per Roger's wishes there will be no funeral. Burial will be at later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Bittner Funeral Chapel.
Roger was the youngest child of 12 children, born to Chris and Myrtle (Carrick) Weber on July 24, 1945, in Chamberlain SD.
Roger attended school in Chamberlain SD. In March 1966, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he made this his career until retiring in September 1988.
While in the service, he was a Navy Seal for a short period of time, until he was injured on a mission drill. This did not keep him from serving his country as he served aboard the following ships: USS Amphion, USS John F. Kennedy, USS Harwood, USS Sarofield, USS Ticonderoga, USS CFAY Det Yokohama, USS Midway, Branch Commissary Store, Miramar, CA, USS Hayler, and the Naval Base Brig-security. Upon retirement he located to Mitchell, SD and worked in security at Dakota Pork. He was also employed at Costal Convenience Store. He took a job in construction and travelled throughout Montana and Minnesota operating a milling machine for highways.
After retiring from the construction industry, he bartended at the Long Horn for 10 years.
Roger is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, William Weber, Lyle Weber, Warren Weber, Max Weber, Darrell Weber and Jerome "Jerry" Weber. His sisters, Edith "Lorraine" (Weber) Heideprim, Dorothy (Weber) Drew, Velda (Weber) Hall, Beverly (Weber) Lauinger, and Wanda (Weber) Ellingson.
