LeRoy Robinson, 81, of Mitchell died Sunday, October 29, 2017 at his home. Funeral mass will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Mitchell with burial at Servicemen’s Memorial Cemetery in Mitchell. Visitation will be 5-7:00 PM Friday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with a 7:00 PM scripture service.
Leroy Anthony Robinson was born on April 30, 1936 at Mitchell, SD to Maurice and Irene (Allington) Robinson. He attended school in Mitchell and graduated from Norte Dame High School in 1954. He was a member of the National Guards. He married Anita Blindauer on October 29, 1956 at Holy Family Catholic Church. He started LeRoy Robinson Housemoving in 1958. In 2003 his sons bought the business and LeRoy continued to go to work with them every day until he became ill in April of 2017. Robinson Housemoving was honored as Mitchell Prairie Family Business of the year in 2016.
He was a member of the Holy Spirit Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, watching sports on TV (especially the LA Dodgers as he was an avid fan), and gardening. He loved to play pinochle and cribbage. His greatest joy in life was his family.
He is survived by his wife Anita. His children Patrick (PhyIlis O’Neill) of Fulton, Michael (Cindy Fraser) of Mitchell, Lisa (David) Reuland of White Lake, MichelIe (Kenneth) SchoenfeIder of Mitchell, Mark of Mitchell and Gregory (Jamie Braden) of Mitchell. 18 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Brothers: Jerry, Richardson TX; Leonard, LasVegas NV and Jackie (Bev) Robinson, Mitchell. Sister-in-law Joan Robinson, Sioux Falls.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Art.
