Donald Miller, 86, Emery, SD died Monday, August 21, 2017 at the Salem Care Center in Salem.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am Saturday, August 26 at St. Martin Catholic Church in Emery. Burial will be in the St. Martin Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 pm Friday with a scripture service at 7:00 pm at the Hettinger-Bittner Funeral Chapel in Emery.
Donald Rawleigh Miller was born March 6, 1931 in McCook County, SD to William and Carrie (Mathews) Miller. He served in the US Army where he was stationed in Germany, rebuilding bridges following WWII. On May 1, 1954 he married Theresa Ann Huse at Hartford, SD. They resided at Parker, SD until moving to Emery in 1969. Don worked as a mechanic and was the manager of Don Burns Truck Lines for many years. He was a member of St, Martin Catholic Church, the American Legion, VFW and the D.A.V.
He is survived by his wife of sixty three years, Theresa, two daughters: Cindy (Terry) Hanssen of Emery, Roxy (Jerry) Drietz of Parker, three sons: Tom (Teresa) Miller of Sioux Falls, Randy (Melanie) Miller of Hartford and Terry (Patty) Miller of Emery, two sisters: Madeline Konda of Marion, Viola Campbell of Sioux Falls, two sisters-in-law: DeLora Miller of Pierson, IA, Mary Miller of Parker, 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, two sisters, three sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law.
