Celestine (Sally) Pollreisz, 96, died Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00AM Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with burial at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Ethan. Visitation will be 5-7:00 PM Monday, May 29, 2017 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with a 7:00 prayer service.
Celestine (Sally) Sophia Pollreisz was born May 11, 1921 in Dimock, SD to Joseph and Josephine (Wermers) Weber. She grew up in Dimock and attended grade school in Ethan and Catholic high school in Menno. She did volunteer work at the Cooks Inn. Sally married Leo Pollreisz on September 4, 1940 in Dimock and the couple enjoyed 74 years of marriage. She and her husband farmed until 1979 then moved to Ethan.
Her hobbies include embroidery (she loved making towels), playing cards, fishing, camping, polka dancing, and watching Molly B. on TV. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and quilting. She was very giving of herself, always helping others with food, thoughts, prayers, and gifts.
Sally attended Holy Trinity Church in Ethan and Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Mitchell. She was a member of Rosedale Community Club, Altar Society in Ethan, and various card clubs. She enjoyed spending time at the senior citizen center.
She is survived by her three sons Robert (Jan) Pollreisz, Mitchell, Richard (Mary) Pollreisz, Mitchell, and Roger (Deanna) Pollreisz, Ethan; three daughters Carol (Mac) McEntee, Canton, Mary (Ron) Jenks, Baltic, and Lynda (Mike) Murphy, Platte; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; siblings Rita Mutziger, Mitchell, Jerome (Rita) Weber, Mitchell, Helen (Art) Pollreisz, Mitchell, Virgil (Eleanor) Weber, Spearfish, Marlys Miiller, Mitchell, and Bill (Vickie) Weber, Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leo; sisters Lucille Muth and Stella Puetz; and brothers Leonard Weber and Alvin Weber.
