Thomas Ralph Mielke was born May 30, 1932 to Ralph and Martha (Hinz) Mielke at Mt. Lake, MN. He graduated from Springfield High School and the University of Minnesota. Thomas served in the United States Air Force from 1952-1956 and was stationed in Spokane, WA. On September 9, 1980 he married Eleanor Beck at Osakis, MN. Tom was a dairy farmer for several years and then was employed as a USDA Food Inspector in Ashland, AL, and also Snohomish, WA, where he worked in a meat processing plant. Tom was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Mitchell.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor “Ellie”; two sons: Clayton (Julie) Mielke of Kensington, MN, Russell (Larenda) Mielke of Washington, DC; two daughters: Gail (Scott) Anderson of Erhard, MN, Sharon (Chuck) Hartsfield of Richmond, MN; two step-daughters: Susan (Bruce) Kubert of Portland, OR, Julie Beck of Seattle, WA; ten grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Glenn.
