Orin Glenn Freeman was born April 23, 1962 to Edwin and Jessie (Behrendt) Freeman in Mitchell, SD. Through second grade he was a student at Worthen 1 country school and then attended Ethan Public School; graduating from Ethan High School in 1980. He attended South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD. Orin then took over the family farm and for the last 26 years he worked for Heart of America Dairy Herd Improvement Association. He was united in marriage to Karen Hilden on May 24, 1997 at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan, MN. To this union, three sons, Jonathon, Matthew, and Michael were born.
Orin’s greatest joy in his life was his family. He loved them and was so proud of them. He taught them much about life working alongside of them on the farm. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, the South Dakota Rabbit Breeders Association, and was very active in 4-H with his boys. We will all miss his sense of humor and his laugh.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Karen of Ethan; three sons, Jonathon, Matthew, and Michael at home; father-in-law, Glen Hilden of Milan, MN; brother, Lynn Freeman of Ethan, SD; sister, Anita Freeman of Dublin, CA; brother-in-law, Terry (Autumn) Hilden of Montevideo, MN; uncle, George Freeman of Mitchell, SD; two aunts, Beverly Parks of Lewisville, TX and Amy Behrendt of Salem, SD; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
