Irene Ottilia Beckmann

October 20, 1928 - August 12, 2016

Irene Ottilia Beckmann was born on October 20, 1928 in White Lake to Ernest and Ottilia (Morath) Kluthe.  She attended country school in Gales Township and graduated from White Lake High School.  After graduation, she spent four years helping out on the family farm with her brothers, Walter and Lawrence Kluthe.

In 1950 she married Robert Beckmann.  She was a member of Saint Peter’s Catholic Church and Saint Peter’s Altar Society.  They lived on the farm raising sheep and cattle until they retired in 1980.  Due to health disabilities, they moved to Aurora Brule Nursing Home in October 2010.

Irene was a special person.  She enjoyed doing her puzzles with the grandkids.  Her love for family was her greatest strength.  She considered everyone her extended family.  She always had the words of encouragement that we needed to hear.

She is survived by her six sons:  Richard (Sharon) Beckmann, Dale (Donna) Beckmann, Doug (Barb) Beckmann, Dennis Beckmann, Dave Beckmann and Dan Beckmann all of White Lake; two daughters:  LaVonne (Bill) Olinger of Emery and Mary Jo (Duane) Beckman of White Lake; twenty grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren; her sister, Gertrude Schuman; brother, Clem Kluthe and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; infant daughter, Karen; brothers:  Walter, Lawrence and Sylvester (Jeanie) Kluthe; sisters:  Marie (George) Assmus, Rosella (Vern) Kalk; Teresa (Richard) Rossman; brother-in-law, Dick Schuman and sister-in-law, Bonnie Kluthe.

I just found your obituary while looking for my cousin's. My sympathy to all of the family. I remember some very enjoyable potluck parties at the farm. It was such a nice opportunity to get to see and know all of Terry's relatives. How much we appreciated the invitations. I am assuming you know that I lost Terry in May. My life is very changed, and I miss him so much. I would enjoy keeping in touch with the family.

I don't even know where to begin.. I can't believe you really gone home. Heaven just gained a beautiful angel that I will never forget! I don't think it will be the same with out you at the nursing home. The last 6 years of caring for you have been such a pleasure! I loved our chats we had and the times spent with you. You will always have a special place in my heart. I know we're not supposed to get to attached but it's hard not to when we seen you every day. I will miss your bright smile every morning Irene! Until we meet again RIP beautiful angel! Give bob our love too! ❤️❤️
