James Mathew Brech


September 20, 1947 - November 10, 2015


James Mathew Brech was born September 20, 1947 in Parkston to Rudolph and Clara (Thome) Brech. He grew up on the farm, attended Sacred Heart School through the 8th grade and graduated from Parkston High School in 1965. He served in the Army National guard for six years. On October 28, 1972 he married Sharon Koster at St’s Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Dimock. They made their home on the farm west of Dimock. He worked for Pat Weber Construction for several years, Trail King Industries for twenty-three years and most recently was a courier for Avera Health until failing health. Jim had a very strong faith and cherished the time he spent with his family. He loved making road trips with his family and riding his motorcycle. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived wife, Sharon of forty-three years, daughter, Jennifer (Sam) Hoiland, Ethan, son, Scott Brech, Dimock, one brother, Dave (Patty) Brech, Menno, an aunt, Bernadine Thomas, Parkston and ten special nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws, Urban and Rita Koster, grandparents, Matt and Katie Brech, one nephew, Shawn Gerlach and several aunts and uncles.

I was a classmate with Jim and have lots of fond memories of his humor and antics. He was lots of fun to be around. My condolences to the family. Peace!!

Sending condolences to Jim's family.., May God be with you all at this sad time. Jin and I were good friends which started when we were Couriers for Avera. So enjoyed our visits since then. Rest in Peace Jim.
