Evelyn Mae Hubbart was born March 16, 1914 at Carthage, SD to Frank and Leota (Snyder) Shumaker. She grew up on the farm near Argonne where she attended school. On December 29, 1930 she married Reuben Henry Hubbart at Woonsocket. Evelyn and Reuben worked and raised their children in Fedora where Evelyn worked as a temporary clerk in the Post Office and also as officer in charge for three years. In 1973 they retired and moved to Mitchell. She was a Deacon in the Presbyterian Church, she enjoyed bridge and bowling and was an avid Twins fan.
She is survived by three children: Richard (Barbara) Hubbart, Las Vegas, NV; Norma (Garry) Shumaker, Sioux Falls and Reuben (Derah) Hubbart, Jr., Gainesville, FL; daughter-in-law, Louise Hubbart, Mitchell; ten grandchildren: Linda (Wayne) Weber, Cindy (Jerome) Beatch, Dorothy (Darwin) Tiede, Kyle (Shelly) Hubbart, Denee’ (Rick) Driscoll, Rhonda (David) Zinter, Steven (Carla) Leith, Jeffrey (Teresa) Hubbart, Anthony (Lisa) Hubbart and Reuben (Sara) Hubbart III, numerous step-great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Hazel (Harold) Parquet, Hill City, SD.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben, son, Robert, brothers: Lyle, Mahlon and Wyman, sisters: Maude and Naomi, four siblings who died in infancy, son-in-law, James Leith and great granddaughter, Jamie Beatch Shannon.
