Roxane Renee DeVries

October 18, 1961 - June 9, 2014

Roxane Renee DeVries was born in Mitchell, S.D. to Marvin and Opal (Nesheim) Titze on October 18th, 1961.  She was the last of 6 children.  She was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church, Mitchell S.D.  She attended country grade school and graduated from Mitchell High School.  She went to Rapid City and attended a business college for one year and then moved back to Mitchell and started a job with Bauer Dental as a receptionist.  She was employed with Toshiba America Information Systems for over 25 years.

Roxane was united in marriage to David DeVries on April 12th, 1986.  They have lived all of their married life in the Mitchell area.

Roxie's greatest passion was, first for the Lord, and next for her family.  She had a laugh that was contagious and would get others to start giggling.  Isaiah 62:5 says "As a man rejoices over his new wife, so your God will rejoice over you".  Roxie said many times how the cancer was a blessing and helped her prepare to become the bride for Jesus.

Thankful for having shared her life is her husband, David, her two sons, Benjamen, Sioux Center, Iowa, Jesse, Okinawa, Japan, five siblings, Larry (Cheryl) Titze, Mitchell, Cynthia (DeWayne) Delzer,  Rapid City, Kathy (Steve) Otterby, Mitchell, Kristine Theis, Rapid City, Steve (Karen) Titze, Bloomington, MN, father and mother in-law, Darwin (Doris) DeVries, Viborg, SD, brother in-law,  Mike (Jamie) DeVries, Chester, S.D., and sister in-law, Laurie Gilmore, Sioux Falls, SD plus many other relatives and friends.  And oh yes, we can't forget the many quilting friends!  She was preceded in death by an infant son, Carson, and her father and mother, Marvin and Opal.

Roxie's wishes were for all memorials be directed to a mission project that she was a part of in northeast India.

I am so very sad to hear the news of Roxie's passing and praying for God's peace and comfort for all her family. I have so many fond memories of fun times with Roxie, especially during junior high science class, sleepovers, and going to church camp together in the summer. I will cherish these memories and miss visiting Roxie during trips to Mitchell. She was such a talented, sweet person and loved by so many.

Dear Dave and family, I am so sorry to hear of dear Roxie's passing. She possessed so many wonderful qualities (yes, definitely her fabulous laugh and ability to make others laugh is one I remember!).! I am so blessed to have had her close friendship through the high school years. Many dear, sweet, fun and wonderful memories. She will be missed by so many. And what a shining light she was in her faith to our Good Shepherd. May God grant you peace and comfort at this difficult time.
