John Paul Falk, 90, of White Lake died Thursday, October 31, 2019 at Aurora Brule Care Center in White Lake.
A celebration of life service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, November 9, 2019 at United Methodist Church in White Lake. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery in Mitchell.
John Paul Falk was born on Friday September 13, 1929 to John Peter and Eliza (Hail) Falk in Mitchell, South Dakota. He lived on the family farm and attended school through the 5th grade at the Gillen Country School and then resumed his education at the White Lake Public School. He graduated high school in 1946 and then attended Dakota Wesleyan University for one year before returning to the family farm.
John married Marjorie Oltmans on September 11, 1948. They lived on the family farm in White Lake, South Dakota. They had five children and remained living on the farm until the children graduated high school. John continued farming until they moved into town, at that time they opened the Gambles Hardware Store. John wore many hats throughout the years as he drove for Nels Kristensen, Pork Storks, and was a school bus driver.
John is survived by his wife of 71 years, Marjorie; children, John Larry (Barb) Falk, White Lake, SD, Mary Gale (Norbert) Mohnen, White Lake, SD, Paul Falk, Minneapolis, MN, Janet Regynski, Shelbyville, TN and Ruth Ransom, Franklin, NE, 17 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
John Paul was preceded in death by his brothers, Dale and Harold, and sister Peggy Wright.
